@PolitlcsUK We will look back on these days that we are currently living in and call them "the good old days". People need to appreciate what they've got.
Starbucks UK did £556m in sales last year… and paid no corporation tax.
Yes they paid NICs and collected VAT - but so does every company.
Maybe instead of crushing the life out of UK SMEs, the government should focus on large multi nationals.
Cliveden House burnt down in 1849. The architect behind Parliament rebuilt it in two years.
Now, Parliament has spent over a decade just planning its own repairs.
What happened to the country that built things? 👇
Hürzeler would be stupid to leave the best run club in the country to Manchester United.
Realistically he could win a trophy in Europe this season and get Europe again next season.
A 33-year-old is building the best team in the Premier League right now.
Brighton have the most goals scored (18) and are joint-fewest for goals conceded (5), with a goal difference of +13. They sit third in the league with 13 points from six games.
They also have the most different goalscorers in the Premier League (10) and the most big chances created (27). Defensively they lead the league in turnovers (65) and rank among the best for PPDA.
Fabian Hürzeler is only 33 and has already shown he can build a strong, balanced team. If United want a manager to build something lasting, Hürzeler is the one.
He's my choice for the job.
@MagicHatJam Not letting them buy our clubs is a different argument. Thats not against the current rules, they allowed the Newcastle deal to go through too.
If thats your argument then we're in agreement that the rules were never fit for purpose and need an overhaul.
Mission S.
Authentic. Consistent. Timeless.
A glimpse into the future - shaped by our heritage. Mid-engine architecture. A focus on the driver and the driving experience.
Call it a love letter.
I’d punish Man City first because they’ve had a clear head start. Transfer ban, big fine and deduct points over multiple seasons. Then let the other clubs spend as they wish
I feel like a minority but if I was in charge of the Premier League I’d take the shackle off and let the clubs spend what they like and get the best players in the world playing in our league.
I’d love to watch quality like PSG every week.
Manchester City against PSG was unquestionably the tie of the Champions League round on paper and probably the most-watched sporting event in the world this week.
At their best, PSG are the most complete side in Europe by a distance. And in the second half in Manchester, City threatened an incredible comeback.
Watch it while pinching your nose if you need to, but this was first-class sport, with top players shining.
