I've not tweeted in a while...๐ At the risk of sounding braggadocious...I finished my annual read through the bible today. It's an amazing practice I began several years back. If you've never done so...I highly recommend it and would love for you to join me starting January 2021
If we are more upset that our college team might not play this season that we are that our local church isn't meeting...then we might be a cultural christian. Last session of the Unsaved Christian is tomorrow in the Wed Bible Study.
I have...I've been inside, I've walked through those smudged glass doors, I've tasted and seen, I've sat at the counter but I've kept it all to myself. Dawn...I'm sorry. When restaurants reopen...I'm taking you to Waffle House!
I never expected this kind of response to a previous tweet! Your silence speaks volumes and I get it...the circumstances are dire. Please don't shame me with your silence. I admit it..its my fault. In our 38 years of marriage I never took my wife to Waffle House!
What was I thinking?! I surprised her one night by taking her to the Taco bus (you should have seen her face when we drove up...her first words were, can we eat on the bus) but she's never darkened the door of a Waffle House.
Okay...Friday nights are usually "date night" for Dawn & me. With so many restaurants closed...we're wondering what places are still open or where to get carryout. She says she's never eaten at a Waffle House (Hey...I'm as surprised as you are).
Any suggestions?
Some good that will come from our present challenge:
- Families spending time together.
- Families cooking & eating around the dinner table.
- Time for real face2face conversation & communication.
- Time w/God in His Word.
- Time w/God in prayer.
- Time to help others in need.
โThe Word of God well understood and religiously obeyed is the shortest route to spiritual perfection. And we must not select a few favorite passages to the exclusion of others. Nothing less than a whole Bible can make a whole Christian.โ -A.W. Tozer
