I had a fantastic time this week at the Blackburn Literacy Festival, running illustration workshops with local schools, at @BwDLibraries. We talked about why it's important to show emotion in our character drawings, then drew some funny faces with a focus on feelings.

Some of the schools are going to further develop their characters with some writing activities, which I'm really looking forward to reading! The kids were absolutely amazing - they were well behaved, polite and highly engaged, and I think (hope!) they had a fab time too!
