There is something called political will. If development is truly the priority, there is one unconventional option available for Parandur Airport.

The situation today is very different from what it was two years ago when Mr. Vijay supported the landowners’ protests as an Opposition leader.

A substantial 60% of the required land has already been acquired by the State Government. At this stage, abandoning the project would only lead to a huge waste of public money and years of delay.

Converting already acquired land to Industrial estate will no way solve the problem, it can create even higher pollution concerns than airport.

The practical way forward is to complete the remaining land acquisition and move ahead with the construction of the airport.

But this cannot be achieved through administration alone.

Chief Minister Vijay must directly engage with farmers and affected families, address their concerns, and build trust through a fair and transparent rehabilitation process.

He can even explore an innovative model inspired by Cochin International Airport (CIAL), which is owned by nearly 19,000 investors rather than a single government or company.

Similarly, affected farmers can be offered equity participation in the airport project.

This will change the narrative:

Farmers will become stakeholders and investors who benefit from the long-term success of the airport through annual returns and wealth creation.

The appointment of #ArunIPS as the Director of the #DVAC is, in itself, disappointing. The reason being, he was the officer who denied campaign permission to #TVKVijay‌ during the election period, arrested several individuals who are now in TVK as well as multiple social activists, and has consistently been criticised for showing loyalty towards the DMK’s first family.

In such a situation, his appointment as DVAC Director naturally raises questions over whether cases against former DMK ministers would proceed without limitation. Particularly, cases involving Senthil Balaji, Anitha Radhakrishnan, and K.N Nehru could come under greater scrutiny in this context.

Further, appointing a person who has faced strong criticism from the judiciary to head such an important department does not add to the government's credibility. This is a decision that Chief Minister Vijay should reconsider. @TVKVijayHQ @AadhavArjuna @BussyAnand @JhonArokiasamy @CMOTamilnadu

The IAS and IPS officers they appoint to key posts is often an early indication of how a Government will perform.
Sadly @TVKVijayHQ seems to be fluffing that test. Even among the IAS officers many tainted officers have been shifted but given equally weighty portfolios.
