She’s waiting for him to snap out of it and go back to normal

Because he lost himself to investigating Dess, who was both their almost-daughter and the first love of their firstborn’s life

Dess was clearly a delinquent and he was chief of police, so they must’ve been CLOSE.

Like that’s the worst part. From context clues, no one blames Asgore in the slightest, they just want him back and to drop this pointless obsession

Asgore could’ve gone back home the entire time, and all he had to do was put all his notes into one big pile outside their front lawn and burn it all to prove he’s over and done with it
