@wiqi_lee Not gonna lie, this is the kind of idea that actually makes sense.
The problem was never awareness — it’s what happens under pressure. This tackles that directly.
Every 30 seconds, someone loses money to a phone scam.
Scams don’t work because people are careless. They work because pressure works. Scammers create urgency, fear, and false authority, and in that moment, even someone who knows the risks can still hand over what should never be shared.
That’s where most anti-scam advice fails. It doesn’t fail before the call. It fails during the call, when pressure takes over and rational thinking starts to break down.
And that gap is far bigger than any one person can handle.
According to the FBI IC3 2024 Annual Report, internet crime losses in the United States hit $16.6 billion in 2024. In its 2024 report, the Global Anti-Scam Alliance estimated global scam losses at more than $1.026 trillion over the past year.
So I built VoxGuard solo for the Google Gemini Live Agent Challenge.
VoxGuard is a real-time multimodal AI agent that detects scams and intervenes as they’re happening. Built with Gemini Live API, Gemini 2.5 Flash, Google Cloud Run, React, and Rust WebAssembly, it analyzes live audio and visual signals, raises a threat score in real time, detects manipulation patterns like Authority, Urgency, and Fear, delivers natural voice warnings, and generates a personalized recovery plan after Safe Exit.
I built VoxGuard for people who knew better and still got scammed.

@wiqi_lee Ahh, I really hope you win! Your application has great features and is very helpful for beginner developers, or for people who don’t want to deal with complicated backend work.
How does the judging rubric work?
@kemasafir@wiqi_lee the lecturer. And they were only passed because the lecturer felt bad that they had been standing in front of the class for so long 🤣🤣
@kemasafir@wiqi_lee Most of them just threw loud sarcastic remarks in class (no one directly confronted her). But I’m sure she heard it and felt it. Strangely, she acted like she didn’t hear anything. Lol, it’s honestly funny.
In the end, the group she led couldn’t answer a single question from-
@wiqi_lee@kemasafir The professor pointed it out, asking, “What’s the difference from the previous useless one? It’s just a different interface. You should be using crawling. This is basic stuff, and you couldn’t do it.” Ha!
@wiqi_lee@kemasafir Yeah, I never really liked her presentations. To me, they always felt shallow. But everyone kept praising her just because she’s connected to the government and knows influential people at the time. Haha.
In the end, though, I was right—she is shallow. That was proven when she-
@wiqi_lee@kemasafir couldn’t answer a simple question from the lecturer. Even her presentation on technology was honestly laughable. She built a website that was no different from the previous one the government had already abandoned; she just replaced the UI with a simpler look. LOL.
Even -
@wiqi_lee@kemasafir Hahaha, she couldn’t answer the lecturer’s question! That was the moment that really made her look like a complete zero. Totally far from the image she’s been projecting on campus all this time.
Once again, she couldn’t even answer a simple question from the lecturer!
@wiqi_lee@kemasafir Yep, not validation-hungry. Like wearing a sash that says “ambassador” 😆
Or walking into class still carrying a bouquet of flowers and dressed in traditional attire. 🫵🏻😫
She’s honestly just embarrassing herself. Seriously. Everyone talks about her behind her back.
@wiqi_lee@kemasafir That kind of restraint actually takes strength, not weakness.
I completely agree—at the end of the day, consistency, integrity, and real effort will speak for themselves.
@wiqi_lee@kemasafir Yeah, strangely enough, even after all that, she still doesn’t learn. She keeps doing whatever she wants and ends up being hated by people again. I honestly don’t know how she thinks 🤷🏻♀️
@wiqi_lee@kemasafir Yes, you’ve known her since high school, and since then you were always expected to be the one who understood her, simply because you were the only ones from your school at that campus. But the one time you couldn’t help her, she discarded you. That’s really awful of her. 😌
@kemasafir@wiqi_lee Yeah… just because there was one time we couldn’t help her. We had our reasons, and we genuinely weren’t able to help at that moment, but she didn’t want to understand. The next day, she acted as if we didn’t exist. It’s really strange, considering we only couldn’t help her once
@wiqi_lee@kemasafir Some people see themselves as superior to others just because of their status.
Well, don’t imitate bad behavior, and don’t set a bad example either. We stay neutral and respectful toward her—whatever she chooses to do is up to her. In my opinion, personal quality matters more.
@wiqi_lee Yeah, I don’t know—maybe it’s just her personality or something. Even so, she’s still arrogant and doesn’t seem to feel any remorse for how she behaved in the past.
@wiqi_lee Yeah, I think by now we should all know what’s right and what’s wrong.
Even though, in her case, what’s “bad” might actually be what’s good.
She acts tough by getting angry and defensive. But in the end, she still comes back to us—because she doesn’t really have anyone else.
