1st generation Canadian, 3rd gen farmer, small town wrestling coach w/big city skills, adventure world traveler, sometimes take sarcasm to a whole new level
@Lacadenafarms I won't deal with EGT ever again because of a similar issue. Higher priced locked in for #1&2. They graded it a 3. Went across the street to another buyer said the nicest lentils he had seen and wanted them. 2 other companies same thing.
@stevemagness A program is a reflection of the coach. That is why actions are greater than words. If you want your athletes to act with class you must also.
@stevemagness From listening to your book that was my take away. It is about giving athletes/people the coping mechanisms ahead of time so when a situation does happen they know how to navigate and cope this situation. Allowing people to fail, learn and correct and do it again better.
“Elite” youth teams are an invention of adults, for adults.
When kids are selected young, it causes:
1. More sport-specific practice for the few
2. A false sense of early growth
3. A “radiating effect” of needing more sport-specific practice to get picked
4. Coaches to judge success on winning, not development
Long-term, it’s kids that are the greatest losers in this process.
@stevemagness If critiquing is looked upon as positive by everyone as a chance 2 learn & get better is a huge factor. If critiquing is done harshly, as punishment, 2 demean someone it is negative experience. Have 2 create a culture that is about doing, learning, correcting, do again but better
@StacyBehr@Slic_Ric_DaRula@BrandonHerring0 Lots of gymnastics in wrestling. That is the part that is key with coaching wrestling is kids need to know how to tumble, etc for safety reasons.
@ProfSmithSask It is a tax increase on every entrepreneur, most don't have a pension plan their pension is when they sell their business. It is an eventual tax on every entrepreneur the hardware store owner, plumber, restauranter, farmer, fisherman, and self-employed professional, etc.. 0.13%?
plumber, restauranter, farmer, fisherman, and self-employed professional, etc.. If this is only 0.1% of the population then as a country we are in severe trouble. This also affects the transfer of assets to the next generation.
Most small business owners do not have a pension, as they spend their money on building their company. Their pension is when they sell their business is the capital gains. It is not the ultra-wealthy tax it is a tax eventual tax on every entrepreneur the hardware store owner,
@Wytrykush_C@kperlik mortgage or land rent is still a bill to pay. The big thing is are you making money farming the land. Preference is to own land but if it doesn't make money easier to get out overpriced land rent than an overpriced mortgage.
News flash: most business owners don't have pension plans. What they have is a business that they were planning to sell when the time comes to retire. The capital gains hike is a direct attack on the retirements of those who spent their careers building the Canadian economy.
The media spin on the #Budget2024 is that the capital gains tax rate going from 50 to 66% will only affect the wealthy top 1% of Canadians. I would say family farms just took a hard kick in the nuts. My guess is the vast majority of farmers according 2 them we are the 1% wealthy
Being old enough to actually remember the 1982 budget debacle and having a lot of respect for David Dodge, this is a truly scary 2024 budget prediction. https://t.co/CSBl5XLVyE
@lbossaer@kinsellawarren It was totally taken at the peak of forest fires they even said that. Picking data to get the answer you want. I am pretty sure no where in the NWT would ever rate higher than any major city in Canada/USA and definitely not Mexico unless a forest fire was happening.
