@michaelyo ND was up 6 with :12 left to play vs A&M and had forced 4th and goal from the 12. The DT who broke through clean was CLEARLY tackled from behind with a clear shot at the QB. Should have been a W. They were tied with Miami with 1:30 left with a RS freshman QB in his 1st game.
@MiamiCanes1971@espn Interesting that you quote FPI rankings. Check out where ND is ranked and where Miami is ranked in FPI. Might want to think twice about using FPI.
@chrisfallica@chrisfallica Miami reached #2 in the weeks following the ND win. And ND dropped to like 24 or 25. The win mattered. Then ND started rolling while Miami only beat FSU 28-22, lost to L'ville, struggled early vs. BC and lost to SMU in a 4 week stretch right before the first CFP.
@BarstoolBigCat For all those saying head to head HAS to matter. Here’s a newsflash. It’s the ONLY reason Miami is sniffing the top 12. Had they beaten Purdue or Wisconsin in week 1, they’d be closer to 20 than 12. And don’t shit the bed 2x in 3 weeks right before the first rankings!!!
@TateJettas Go ahead. And when you go 10-2 again without an ND win watch where you’re ranked. LOL!!!
W/O the ND win, the U is closer to 20 then 12. LOL!
@DanWolken Well @DanWolken, let’s see the list of the 40 teams! Go!
Everyone salty because ND CAN actually be independent and thrive. Also, the conferences have them a seat at the CFP planning. Hmm???
@dannykanell You too @dannykanell? ND was up 37-9 with 6 seconds left. Pitt called TO to score a TD against ND’s 2nd and 3rd stringers. Miami was “only” up 31-7 with :33 left and went points chasing. But you keep doing you! Miami deserves to be in. But if ND handles tonight so do they!
@AriWasserman My goodness you’re going to keep stretching to make this point aren’t you @AriWasserman. ND was up 37-9 and Pitt called TO w/ 6 seconds left to score vs ND’s 3rd team. Then Miami does the same to Pitt “only” up 31-7. But you go on being “objective”
@CoachD178@CoachD178 The stretch that killed Miami after climbing to #2 in the polls. Only beat a bad Gators team 26-7 at home. Only beat a putrid FSU team 28-22. Lost to unranked L'ville at home. Beat Stanford. Lost to unranked SMU. Then 38-10 vs. Cuse and 34-17 (27-17) vs VT
@AriWasserman Actually @AriWasserman, if Miami had beaten Purdue on that opening night instead of ND, they would be ranked much lower than they are today. So the game actually DID mean something. Miami was ranked #2 in the polls before losing 2x in 3 weeks. This is not hard.
@YouTubeTV@YouTubeTV, if I can’t watch college football tomorrow, we are 100% cancelling our subscription. As I assume will thousands of other people. You won’t have to worry about negotiating with ESPN because you will no longer have a subscriber base! Too many other options out there
