Will be great if the Govt also insists on similar transparency from lawyers, accountants, tax consultants, former judges who provide legal opinions, etc. Maybe, even that ‘select’ lot of politicians can also publish their chart of ‘facilitation fees’…….
This is remarkable! While the ‘glass ceiling’ has been broken in several areas till now, this one is quite like shattering a ‘concrete ceiling’! Kudos to her for opening up this male bastion & to the Australian government for doing the right thing! 👏👏
WOW!!! A prime accused in a mega fraud Jignesh Shah brings a half-baked cybersecurity product to market @PMOIndia@nsitharaman@SEBI_India https://t.co/cHy0ohBynj
Who will be held responsible for the value (of these assets) destruction apart from the fact that they have been rotting without adding value to ANYONE in the meantime? The legal system??
Our laws identify 7305 crimes by citizens; you can be arrested for milking a cow or buffalo on the street, failing to report the death of an animal within three hours, removing corpses by unprescribed routes, neglecting to provide proper exercise to a pet dog, distributing feeding bottles even to a mother who cannot breastfeed, and for simply storing e-cigarettes. Manish and Rohini make a joint case in the @IndianExpress for the next Jan Vishwas finding the madhyam marg between trusting and punishing citizens👇
Good suggestion. Even more useful will be such reviews by various regulators - especially in the financial services space! They should ideally mention the need & objectives of all regulations upfront together with review parameters & periodicity of reviews.
Further, there are committees set up by the Union & state governments too! Disclosures of all these as part of the budget every year will bring more focus.
Maybe India needs a DOGE urgently! 🤔🤔
Interesting. Committees are clearly expensive affairs! This 5crs ask is excluding usage cost of fully furnished & serviced offices, capital costs of cars & honorarium to be paid to members. Monetising all of these & adding to costs will provide a truer picture.
If this bill is for just the 3-4 months of the committee’s existence, the annualised costs will be materially huge! Add up costs of various such committees set up by the SC / HCs. Can total up to significant part of our public costs.
