My last Red Sox notes from 2025:
• Team over performed
• Making postseason was a W
• Sucks to get bounced by the Yanks
• Cora is a phenomenal manager
• So young, just need to develop more
• Playoff experience was so crucial
• Lineup has to get deeper
• Lineup MUST get healthy
• Need better quality starting pitching
• Need a new 3B coach
• Go make a big splash in free agency
• Trade for another superstar? 👀
• Bregman, Story mean so much
• Roman Anthony is the franchise
• Crochet is everything you wanted
• SO many players to build around
• 2 games (just a few innings) decided this team’s fate
• Im really excited for 2026 and Red Sox Nation should be too
So many storylines for the Red Sox this year, but here are a few things that stand out that helped get them to October:
- Traded for an Ace
- Signed a Right handed bat that mashes at Fenway and is a World Series champ
- Put Garrett Whitlock back where he belongs
- Chapman worked out (just a little bit 😂)
- Healthy Trevor Story
- Organizational depth (Anthony, Mayer, pitching, etc.)
- Took care of business at Fenway
- overcame injuries
Not everything panned out, and it was up and down at times, but they got there.
Time for October.
So now that the precedent has been set that they can swap venues to prevent “unnecessary travel.” I’ll be on the lookout next time two Aroostook County teams play and have to go to Bangor area to play 😁
When officiating the line of scrimmage, general philosophy is not to be overly technical and split hairs over very minor infractions (such as a receiver's hand slightly breaking the LOS). However, when an infraction is so egregious and obvious, a flag has to be thrown.
Kadarius Toney is blatantly lined up offside and in the neutral zone. You rarely see an offsides penalty on the offense, but that is not because this play in #BUFvsKC isn't a foul.
It is because a receiver rarely lines up offsides.
Easton and Fort Fairfield boys will play for the Class D final. Both towns are 5 minutes from Presque Isle which has a beautiful turf facility. However - they’ll have to travel to Hermon to play each other.
The field transformation from the last three weeks of the northernmost college baseball team east of the Mississippi.
Thank you to everyone that worked tirelessly so that we could get our home games in. 4 more in the next two days. Go Owls.
What @CoachDanKane has done in the last few years is remarkable. Recruits from Maine need to start putting UMPI on their list. Husson is not the only standard anymore.
Time people start respecting UMPI as a legitimate basketball school in Maine. To finish above Husson, St Joe’s and Bowdoin in the coach’s poll is a huge accomplishment. Stop writing off UMPI because it’s Presque Isle.
