@SumeshGuleria3@djhrishi They provide large scale employments and pay for freebies. Yet those enjoying one of the lowest data rates in the world thanks to them, post against them . Others who invest on things of strategic importance for India ports minerals receive flak from those enjoying freebies.
@Sadafsayeed I am delighted that someone finally mentioned this topic. Even worse if the shares are of an unlisted company you pay tax without earning a single rupee. Since it's taxed as a perquisite it boosts your notional income with surcharge and cess. This contradicts start up India.
@imvikashverma@PetroleumMin Mathematically flawed. Assuming a worst case 7%drop in mileage. A car using 10L for say 100km now uses 10.75 of E20 of which 8.6L is petrol or 14% less petrol. It is still valuable foreign exchange saved.
@pareek_mohit26 Do not abolish you need the money to run a country. Question is of fairness and not targetting one base while giving a free pass to others.
@IndiaNewGen If you are paying an EMI and rent it's poor planning not a salary issue. Real issue is that of surcharge starting above 50L and lack of financial literacy .
@svembu Stereotypes mislead. Many are matured and not extravagant. Others are focused on learning and building a career. A lot of them I know are responsible and respectful and even in there daily lives rarely use foul language like what we saw. A few bad ones we saw do not reflect all.
@ValueWithPrem@DeepValueLedger Building localised chains is a different debate altogether. Unless you insist on a particular brand you get perfectly usable phones with all the latest features for 30% of that price. Even if you do insist on an iPhone how many would you buy in a year? Medical bills recur though.
@ValueWithPrem Correct that PPP ≠ global wealth. Incorrect that PPP is "for groceries." It exists because most spending is local. Exchange rates matter for foreign assets and travel; PPP matters for everyday living. Different questions, different metrics. You can't dismiss either.
@svembu The problem was with the mindset of focusing on software. We need manufacturing and R&D. Concentrate on aeronautical engineering, ship building, chips hardware, defence manufacturing. Medical research and equipment manufacturing.
@sickularismDead@Niharikam1 Officially in reality many cross the limit but they dont report it at all or show their business as loss. The point is not about whether there should be tax or not it is about whether surcharge is fair or unfair and it is clearly unfair.
@Niharikam1 Surcharge is completely unfair. Originally meant for the super rich it is silly to think that someone earning 50L above is rich. It is irritants like these that make young professionals feel cheated and wanting to leave the country.
@richitpatel73@timesofindia If you can't understand maths that's your problem. Adulteration is a different problem and I believe would have existed even before E20. I hope you aren't suggesting that petrol pumps turned dishonest only after the introduction of E20. If so, it's clear who lacks common sense.
@justwondered1@SumitM_X Nope doesn't make sense. You still need money to run a nation. Even Europe and US pay huge taxes at that currency converted levels. What should be done is higher exemptions lower tax rates get rid of cess and surcharge. Get rid or lower LTCG stop taxing PF severance etc.
@kesava_ananth@SumitM_X Fascinating to know that BJP introduced income tax. I thought it existed earlier. Look sarcasm apart we need to highlight the genuine issues and bring it their attention for a resolution. Severance tax is one of them. Please don't trivialize the issue by making it political.
@Finance_Bareek@PratibhaGoyal I completely agree. They do not understand the concept of liquidity completely park their funds in real estate. Are heavily burdened by EMIs not just on the real estate front. Some even consider a luxury car as an investment! Most chase arbitrary numbers without a proper goal.
