UPDATE: Texas DPS releases a statement in the arrest of an Austin news photographer, saying that they are doing “further investigation” after the case was dismissed.
Texas reporters, STOP calling the Republican plan an education savings account. One already exists for savings for college or K - 12 private schools, but the families are the ones doing the savings. If vouchers is too hot, call it a private school grant or subsidy.
@ChronFalkenberg Sadly, I only momentarily thought it was possible after the former Rangers testimony. But looking at the member list, I never could get beyond 18 votes to convict because of partisanship. We need to get rid of the party primaries.
Patricks ruling on privilege may have a huge impact. If he rules in Buzbee’s favor, it will be difficult to introduce whistleblower evidence against Paxton.
@jayrosen_nyu I guess you ignored anything written by the Texas political press corps since Rick Perry said Texas could secede in 2009, you New York-centric elitist know-nothing. Story after story in Texas newspapers would have told you this was coming.
@EvilMopacATX I can remember riding down the old 2222 in a friends MG when we were young, I’ve lived on Burnet Road since 1985, so I guess we are married, and who hasn’t suffered on South Lamar?
@LoewyLawFirm I started masking even when Fauchi said don’t wear one in 2020. Saved me from the worst I kept masking. Still caught it three weeks ago and still recovering. While sick, I wore one to protect other people if I couldn’t avoid going out.
@VinceLeibowitz@BetoORourke Summer campaigning in rural areas helps generate turnout. But you’ve also got to remember that in 2018 every statewide Republican, including Sid Miller, got more votes than Beto. His fall media campaign sucked.
