We are launching a crowdfunding campaign on experiment to run a research on scaling up the knowledge transfer of optics in Madagascar. It's a project with @OpenUc2 and @TeamFoldscope. Would you please support us?

We had a wonderful day last Thursday May 16th at ENS for the opening day of the celebration of the international day of light this year.
Thank you @SPIEtweets and @RavinalaAirport for the financial support!

We are in full preparation of our next event. We will be visiting the public high school of Ivato Airport next week for the VISION event, 2023 edition. The goal of the event is to help the high school students to "view and understand the world around us through a lens". 🦠🔬🪐⏳
A year ago around this time, we completed the science outreach tagged VISION 2022 with the collaboration with @TeamFoldscope and @OpenUc2 and education grant from @SPIEtweets. The plan for VISION 2023 is still ongoing but in a slightly different format.

This is heartbreaking. I just don't feel comfortable to keep quiet about this. High school kids in Madagascar are having their national exam this week and this is how it goes.

Sunset is around 6pm. Most schools don't have electricity and even if they have, power cut occurs often as usual. Not all students have phones or torches. Those who could afford or could buy use candles to complete their exams.
Some of them live quite far from the exam centers. Just imagining the stress they had to go through thinking how will they get home, the security at night and in the dark. The hunger. Tomorrow will be another exam day. It's just so hard to even think about it.
One of today's exam that was supposed to run from 2pm to 6pm (4h exam) got leaked on Facebook. A replacement then took place but the exam papers only arrived at about 4pm in most exam centers or even later.
Hi @OpenUc2 and @TeamFoldscope community, 3 days to go! This project is part of the education grant challenge of Experiment. Our goal is to achieve an extensive test of sustainability and efficiency of #Foldscope and #OpenUC2 for education in Madagascar. https://t.co/5tZMspwPeH
