Five days after our public appeal, we are still waiting for a clear response from the Oyo State Government.
We did not ask for another assurance. We asked for a clear and definite timeline for the payment of our approved bursary.
Unfortunately, what we have received so far is silence from the relevant authorities and ambiguous statements that provide no certainty to the beneficiaries.
A responsive government communicates clearly with its citizens, especially on matters affecting their welfare.
We respectfully call on the Government of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Ministry of Finance, and the Office of the Accountant General to provide a clear update and ensure the immediate disbursement of our approved bursary. @seyimakinde@iamakinolaojo
The approval has been given.
Now, pay our bursary.

Being a Christian yet a tribalistic person is a contradiction. If you look down on someone because of where they come from, you have not yet fully encountered the gospel of Jesus Christ. End tribalism in Nigeria.
Happy Sunday.
Honourable Accountant General, we respectfully call on your office to break the silence. PROCESS OUR FUNDS NOW. @KikelomoAdegoke
The beneficiaries deserve to know the status of the payment. If the file is before your office, kindly expedite the process. If there is any delay, kindly communicate it.
Silence is no longer enough.
Hundreds of Oyo State law graduates have waited patiently for far too long. We are not asking for another promise. We are asking for the release of our approved bursary.
Honourable Accountant General, please hear our voices.
It is time to pay the 2025 Oyo State Nigerian Law School Bursary.

HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER FOR FINANCE, WHEN ARE WE GETTING OUR MONEY ?@iamakinolaojo
Since the approval of the 2025 Oyo State Nigerian Law School Bursary, beneficiaries have patiently awaited its disbursement.
We have received updates from other stakeholders, but we are yet to hear directly from the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, whose Ministry is responsible for the payment process.
We have visited the Ministry on several occasions seeking clarity, yet we have not received a clear or definitive answer on when the approved bursary will be paid.
Honourable Commissioner, we respectfully ask that you address the beneficiaries. A clear update on the status of the payment and the expected timeline for disbursement will go a long way in ending the uncertainty.
We are not asking for another assurance. We are asking for a clear answer.

WE ARE STILL WAITING!
Three days ago, we made a public appeal regarding the continued non disbursement of the approved 2025 Oyo State Nigerian Law School Bursary.
We appreciate everyone who has amplified our voices and shown support. However, as of today, we have not received any clear update from the Ministry of Finance or the Office of the Accountant General regarding when the approved bursary will be disbursed.
We respectfully call on the Ministry of Finance @iamakinolaojo and the Office of the Accountant General @KikelomoAdegoke to provide beneficiaries with a clear and definite update on the status of the payment process.
Oyo State students deserve certainty, not indefinite assurances.
Thank you

Thank you for that question.
You may serve us today by helping out with a stipulated time(frame) for the payment of the already approved (SINCE APRIL) Bursary for the Oyo State 2025 Nigerian Law School Set. Especially since all we've been told for months is "as soon as possible"
August starts tomorrow and the bursary still remains UNPAID! All efforts to ensure that the appropriate authorities do the needful has proved abortive till now.

Oyo Govt Approves ₦153.5 Million Bursary for Law Students
The Oyo State Government has approved the payment of bursaries to law students of Oyo State origin as part of efforts to ease their financial burden.
This was disclosed by the Secretary of the Oyo State Scholarship Board, Mr. Amos Akinyanju, during a briefing in his office.
According to him, a total sum of ₦153,500,000 has been approved for 307 beneficiaries in the 2024/2025 regular set across the seven accredited law schools nationwide.
Mr. Akinyanju further announced that the screening exercise for beneficiaries will commence on Monday, April 27 and run through Thursday, April 30, starting at 10:00 a.m. daily. The exercise will take place at the Scholarship Board Room, Ground Floor, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Agodi, Ibadan.
Providing a breakdown of the schedule, he stated that students from Enugu and Yenagoa campuses will be screened on Monday, while those from Port Harcourt and Yola campuses are slated for Tuesday. Students from Abuja and Kano campuses will be screened on Wednesday, with Lagos campus students scheduled for Thursday.
He advised all beneficiaries to carefully note their designated screening dates and adhere strictly to the schedule to ensure a smooth and orderly process.

Thank you for your response @FeedbackOYSG
However, it's the same thing we've been told over and over for months now - "as soon as possible". When exactly will it be paid? We deserve certainty and assurance as to when the bursary will be fully paid. It's long overdue already!
@rhedhoks Thank you for contacting us. We apologise for the delay. Please be assured that the Oyo State Government is aware of the situation and is working to ensure payments are made as soon as possible.
Dear Handler,
We appreciate your response and understand the concerns of the beneficiaries.
However, our concern is no longer whether the bursary will be paid. We have received similar assurances on several occasions. What we seek now is a clear, definite, and unequivocal timeline for the disbursement of the approved bursary.
The repeated use of uncertain expressions such as "as soon as possible" has left beneficiaries in a state of anxiety and uncertainty, particularly given the prolonged delay since the bursary was approved.
We therefore respectfully request that, before responding to enquiries on this issue, you kindly make the necessary findings from the relevant authorities so that you can provide beneficiaries with accurate and definitive information.
We believe this is consistent with the transparent and accountable leadership that the administration of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde is known for.
We look forward to receiving a clear update on when the approved bursary will be disbursed, rather than another assurance that it will be paid.
Thank you.
