Mental Health Awareness post ❤️
There is strength to be discovered in vulnerability and sometimes that manifests as shaving your hair clean off and sharing lessons learned from when you overcame depression ❤️
1. Do not weaponize your mental health to manipulate, gain favor or hurt those who stand by you.
2. Be accountable. The lies you tell yourself and present as truth only compound suffering.
3. You are not entitled to care, understanding & attention of others. It’s the entitlement that truly breaks you 💔
4. Self pity is a prison. You need to be intentional and commit to bettering yourself first and then your conditions.
5. Self awareness must be sought because it will help you identify destructive patterns and triggers so you can address & mitigate.
6. Emotional health is important. If possible, distance yourself from your abusers and toxic environments and also check your toxicity.
7. Social media is not a safe space. Don’t cry for help on here, do it within your trusted circles.
8. Find purpose and use it to fuel focus and determination.
9. Don’t be afraid to take time off the social scene or socials to work on yourself. The fear of being irrelevant shouldn’t cripple you.
10. Repeat all the above steps. Don’t be afraid to start over, rebuild, fall. Consistency is the goal (establish a healthy routine and stick to it)
