#Germany — A friendship match was held between St. Pauli and Babelsberg 03 as part of the 50th anniversary of the Karl Liebknecht Stadium. The ultras groups of the two clubs have maintained a strong friendship for many years. Both groups have long been known for their anti-fascist identity.
However, their silence in the face of the ongoing genocide in Gaza has led both ultras groups to face serious criticism. During the friendly match played a few days ago, anti-fascist flags and Che Guevara banners were displayed in the stands, but there was no Palestinian flag. Instead, banners calling for the fight against antisemitism were displayed.
Antisemitism should, of course, be opposed without reservation. However, it is shameful that groups which define themselves as anti-fascist continue to ignore Israel’s genocidal attacks in Palestine and Lebanon while limiting their stance solely to opposing antisemitism.
It is possible to oppose genocide, zionism, and antisemitism at the same time.
🚨🚨| Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams has sadly 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐘 at the age of 25.

Red cards are not overturned by political phone calls. They are overturned by rules, evidence and independent bodies. If a U.S. President intervenes with the FIFA President — and a player is suddenly cleared before a World Cup knockout match — the question is unavoidable: Quo vadis, FIFA?

“I'm just proud of my country”🇨🇩🇨🇩🇨🇩
DR Congo goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi, who made five saves in the RO32 defeat to England, is proud of the overall performance by DRC who were makinh a return to the #FIFAWorldCup for the first time since 1974
Salute to Lionel Mpasi Nzazu. Stood on his head for as long as he could making five saves, four of which were in the box and all diving. His performance had all of DR Congo dreaming 🙏🇨🇩
