Venture is here and they’re burrowing their way to the battlefield! ⛏️
Meet our newest Damage Hero and try them out for yourself in their limited-time trial Mar 28 through Mar 31 ✨
Dear @playoverwatch, please switch Venture to a geologist and not an archaeologist. Nothing about the kit or visuals in any way represent the discipline. Watching them burrow through the ground and imagining a site is so heart wrenching 😭 those tools would pulverize it all
@VictorLOAUGA I think my jaw dropped at the forum. The timing is sweet considering they just announced the improved regulations to NAGPRA with feedback and consultation with the tribes.
Steponaitis reeks of privilege, both at the forum and in this article. His basic argument was since he was in the room when nagpra was written that he gets to decide how it’s interpreted? No thanks, I’ll refer to what the Tribes want.
@archaeojake Such a revealing statement. His only value is on research and his precious publishing name. But don’t forget 30 years ago he spoke to an Indigenous person that gave him permission. 🙃
Really happy to have been able to contribute to this paper! With The Last of Us as case study, it explores how players are asked to perform implicit acts of archaeology, and adopt an archaeological mindset. #archaeogaming
Type your name in the GIFs, the third one is you when you're drunk.
LOL... That's definitely not the case. I mean, I don't think that's accurate. I hope it isn't...
Someone tell me it's not, please xD I don't even know if anyone on this continent has ever seen me drunk tbh. 😂
A lot of people know Indiana Jones, but what about other archaeologists in other media? We'd like to highlight some different fictional archaeologists and give them our own rating out of 10 points! Make sure to comment your own below, and we'll rate them as well!

People talking about what AI will do to society, here's a niche example that's happening right now:
Facebook is filling up with fake archaeology articles about discoveries that never happened, with photos of things that do not exist. These are posted en masse by accounts to gain followers so the accounts can later be sold for $.
And boomers are eating it up like your chubby uncle at Christmas dinner. Complete with gravy-stained shirt and greasy fingers, there are angry 70yos defending fake archaeology to young people who are trying to point out they are being duped.
Not that I care too much about these people and what they believe, but you can see how this will start to leak into the collective knowledge of our culture and make us dumber than we already are.
Anyone working on archaeology and/of protests in the United States? I'm wrapping up a new manuscript and looking to incorporate content that may not yet be published.
