my mom is someone who usually gives these children food once in a while. in her words, she’ll say, “my friend has been looking for a child for over 30 years now and God hasn’t given her one, but God gave some women children and see what they’re doing to them.”

yesterday was one of those days. as these children were eating, i noticed 3 out of the 4 were barefoot (in this cold weather). i asked them about their shoes and the 2 younger ones (below 10 years) said theirs got stolen.

the one who’s a teenager told me he had a pair of shoes, but his Mallam (teacher) collected them and gave them to his own child. my dada wey i no get first rise😭😭

here comes the worst part. they further explained that they sleep outside because their teachers won’t let them sleep in their school/mosque, and they also collect their food, which was why they insisted on eating it here.

to crown it all, they don’t have clothes to cover themselves.

i asked them about their mom and they said she’s dead. that was why their father brought them here. 3 siblings oo, none of them is up to 10 years old.

i sha bought shoes for the 2 younger ones because the older one said he’ll ask his Mallam today for his shoes.

it’s just so sad tbvh.

sometimes their mother might not have been in agreement with it, but there’s nothing she could do. you’ll see a 5-year-old child roaming about and begging for food. e go do me make i catch the parents hit them 2 by 2😭😭
