This is another major economic blow to Israel.

A shocking low for the #EU: one of its top leaders stands with Israel’s foreign minister, representing a state responsible for killing 50,000 people (in 16 months), 70% women and children, with Western made weapons, while over 200,000 more may die from life destroying conditions. All this as Israeli leaders openly call for ethnic cleansing. And the analytical framework Ms Kallas uses is :"both-sides" "in a new war".
This, in Jerusalem, part of which remains unlawfully occupied. And not a word about Israel's obligation to end its unlawful presence in the next 6 months as ordered by the @CIJ_ICJ and #UNGA.
Under int'l law, states (and by extention organisations of states) MUST NOT recognize as lawful, or support, unlawful endeavours, yet that is exactly what this visit does.

For the first time in over 20 years, Israel has deployed tanks in the West Bank, after expelling 40,000 Palestinians from refugee camps.

This is a prelude to full annexation, and makes a mockery of the ceasefire agreement that Israel continues to violate.

We are witnessing ethnic cleansing — and our government’s ongoing failure to defend international law is utterly, utterly shameful.

Palestinians are human beings who deserve self-determination.

That is why we will continue to demand economic sanctions, a full arms embargo, and the only path to peace: an end to the occupation of Palestine.
