@swissmiss I also didn't buy all that at once, but only as I needed more capacity and variety for cooking.

I gave away or threw away old pots and pans as new ones replaced them.

@swissmiss Don't worry about buying a set, just buy want you need/will use. For example, I currently own:

- 8in cast iron pan
- 10in carbon steel pan
- 3qt whole-clad saucepan
- 1.6qt whole-clad saucepan
- 14in carbon steel wok

plus a collection of large boilers, dutch ovens, etc.
