@EricGravesKMBC@kmbc Sure! Let's do it! Chiefs and Royals won't be using their stadiums (paid for by the Jackson County taxpayers for over 50 years!) anymore so Sure! Let's use the Stadiums for numerous other events and activities!
This is horrible advice in countless ways! This essay is filled with wrong information and sounds both predatory and would qualify as elder abuse. An intelligent homeowner that wants to pass along their assets will do so through a revocable Trust set up easily with a good Trust Attorney.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
@WallStreetApes If you don't like the expenses and fees in one city then change them or go elsewhere. There are countless places in the USA a person can build with minimal or no building permit fees. There are also many, many places in the USA that have free land programs.
(1) My country, 'tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing;
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims' pride,
From ev'ry mountainside,
Let freedom ring!
(2) My native country, thee,
Land of the noble free,
Thy name I love;
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills;
My heart with rapture thrills,
Like that above. (3)
Let music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedom's song;
Let mortal tongues awake;
Let all that breathe partake;
Let rocks their silence break,
The sound prolong. (4)
Our fathers' God, to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing;
Long may our land be bright
With freedom's holy light;
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God, our King!
EPIC! Some pictures capture a moment.
Others capture an era.
This image will go down in history as one of the most uniquely American scenes ever photographed. Sports, patriotism, tradition, and pride all in one frame!
The soundtrack takes it to another level.
*Jefferson was not referencing the establishment or founding of the United States Government in that quote. *The statement of Madison is truncated and taken out of context from a private discussion on religious liberty and freedom, years after he left the presidency. *John Adams did not compose, independently write nor unilaterally author those words.
If a "tip" is mandatory, it's not a tip—it's a surcharge wearing a smiley face.
Call it what it is: a hidden charge disguised as generosity so restaurants can keep their menus looking affordable while shifting the full cost of labor onto customers through social pressure and awkward tablet prompts.
Every other business in the world figures out how to pay its employees a wage that reflects the value of the work. They build that cost into the price. No guilt. No games. No performance reviews conducted by hungry, slightly intoxicated diners.
Transparency isn't cruelty—it's respect. Raise the prices. Pay people properly. Let the market decide if the experience is worth it. Stop making customers the bad guy for wanting a simple, honest transaction.
Tipping culture isn't kindness. It's outsourced payroll with extra steps.
Mind-blowing moment from the DeepMind doc: Demis Hassabis gets told AlphaFold can predict all 1-2 billion known proteins in just a month.
He instantly says: “Do it.”
This is how history gets made
Just hours before my father passed he woke up, bright eyes, lifted his hand like he was pointing or touching someone, smiled and said very clearly - "oh, there you are!" nodded his head and said sweetly, "ya... I was wondering where you were". He was looking up, looking around, talking normally.... that was the last thing he spoke and fell back "asleep".
Capture a sampling and take to your State Dept of Conservation and the CDC. Many people are seeing a significant increase of ticks this year in the USA - much can be linked to mild winters. Many ticks poise serious health threats:
BACTERIAL: Lyme disease (Borrelia burgdorferi and Borrelia mayonii); Anaplasmosis; Ehrlichiosis; Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (RMSF) and other Spotted Fever Group Rickettsioses (including Rickettsia parkeri); Tularemia; Tick-borne Relapsing Fever (soft tick and hard tick types, including Borrelia miyamotoi disease)
PARASITIC: Babesiosis
VIRAL: Powassan virus disease; Colorado tick fever; Heartland virus disease; Bourbon virus disease
OTHER: Alpha-Gal Syndrome (red meat allergy, triggered by lone star tick bite); Southern Tick-Associated Rash Illness (STARI); Tick paralysis (toxin-based, not infectious)
WORLDWIDE (not common in the continental U.S.); Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE); Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever; Kyasanur Forest disease, Omsk hemorrhagic fever, etc.
Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS), also known as alpha-gal allergy, red meat allergy, or mammalian meat allergy, is a serious, potentially life-threatening allergic condition triggered by a tick bite. It causes the immune system to react to alpha-gal (galactose-α-1,3-galactose), a sugar molecule found in most mammals (like cows, pigs, sheep, deer, and goats) but not in humans, birds, fish, or reptiles. https://t.co/52BMNUwbpR
