@fatih I used to read almost only non-fiction and hardly any fiction. I now have a (not super strict) rule for myself: Only read non-fiction if it contributes to a goal of mine. If it doesn’t, then listening to a podcast or watching a video is OK. This freed up some time for fiction.

@georgemillo It’s probably just because of the simplicity of the interface and zero setup requirements. If agentic AI systems were designed similarly, that is, just download an app and start typing/talking, it would be ubiquitous.

College students use AI to do most of their writing. An increasing number of professors secretly use it for grading. In the limit case, AIs do all the work, and all the humans do is transmit what they create. A good compiler would recognize this as dead code and remove it.

@georgemillo My French teacher who is absolutely opposed to the far-right Rassemblement National said that in runoff between their candidate and the far-left’s candidate she might actually vote far-right because the far-left’s policies are extremely damaging to France (like disarming police).
