“Without the heartbeat of prayer, the body of Christ will resemble a corpse. The church is dying on her feet because she is not living on her knees.”
Al Whittinghill
I asked Kathy to share some things she’s learned in the midst of 2020 – she has an amazing story of turning fear into faith. Check out her guest blog post to see what she learned as she began to give thanks! https://t.co/H0fQCD0Rhs #kvm#kvmblog
If you are doing anything in life worth doing, many people will love you for it and many people will hate you for the very thing the others loved you for. The important thing is what does God think?
Reminded of this Corrie Ten Boom quote when I heard it on a podcast today.
“If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed. If you look within, you’ll be depressed. But if you look at Christ, you’ll be at rest.”
#Sunday
The White House is hosting a Call to Prayer today Sunday, Oct 4, at 5pm, to pray for our President and First Lady. Please plan to join and pass the word. Info in graphic:
Love requires more than law.
The law says,”You must carry my burdens for a mile,” but love says,”I will carry them two.”
The law says, “Love your neighbor,” but love says, “Love you enemy and do good to those who hate you.”
Not only is God holy, but He is also love. His love always desires to show mercy, to redeem, and to restore. Oh God, send America Your mercy, Your redemption, and Your restoration!
It is a good habit to speak kind words, all the time and to everyone we meet. Thoughtless words fall on people's hearts like frost on flowers. The Aramaic word for kindness is literally "sweetness." May my words be sweet to God and men. Winsome words spoken at just the right time
We are coming quickly upon one of the most key elections in our history. Darkness is growing darker and bolder. While our prayers are critical, we must also vote! 52 million evangelicals did not vote in 2016. God gave you the freedom to vote – please use it on November 3rd.
Being free from the need to prove yourself to others is a mark of true spiritual maturity. Living free of other's judgments empowers you to passionately live the life of God's calling. Live the life of mystery and move ahead, with or without applause.
Samuel Adams asked us to remember the consequences of our vote, and said, “Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is… executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country.”
Romans 14:19
Ask God to rend the heavens on our behalf. Our nation is in desperate need for God, but we know He is never mocked for long. He established America & He watches over her. He desires for us to partner with Him to see His Kingdom come to our nation. God, You are welcome in America!
