If I had to start my career over, here are 6 simple steps I'd take:

1. Learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript by creating as many projects as possible

2. Jump into React after learning programming basics, but remember to go back to JS to fully grasp the fundamentals

3. Start freelancing ASAP by asking my local communities (church, shelter) if they need help with their websites

4. Start creating my resume, include uncommon projects like a simple UI framework + the freelancing projects

5. Apply for jobs when I finished the cool side project and have 2-3 freelancing projects

6. Google "most common JavaScript interview questions", study the answers before job interviews
