@LakesWeather Hoping against hope that no one is stupid enough to go up on the fells in the winds forecast for tomorrow & that the mountain rescue teams have a safe & quiet day. Even ‘little’ hills can be unsafe in a high wind. Not ashamed to admit I’ve turned back from Haystacks twice.

@Lionsheadrock @BishopNewcastle I fully agree that the balance of faiths & denominations needs to be addressed, but we need the Lords Spiritual (in the widest sense) as a moral, rather than purely political, voice of reason in government.

@BishopNewcastle If it was right for Canterbury to resign, York’s position is obviously even less tenable. He needs to go now. Yes, it will be awkward having both archbishoprics vacant at once - but maybe that is what the CofE needs. As it needs more leaders with the integrity of @BishopNewcastle

@salawatson @NewcastleCC The one that’s been knocked has been like that for weeks. Haven’t noticed problems with any others in that set - but the roads were quiet enough this afternoon that we didn’t bother using the lights.

@WBerksMuseum @readingmuseum @artukdotorg Is this the one surviving building that has now been turned into housing? My cousin had a flat there for a few years. Our great grandfather & many of his family worked for H&P over several generations, so it’s very much part of our history.

@MichaelSadgrove I would quite like to leave on principle - but I’m perhaps fortunate in seeing very little of the very problematic content, and there are enough people & accounts I value (yourself among them) who only post here that I can’t bring myself to jump ship completely.
