these don’t look as good as they did on the show but I stg I’ve always wanted to try them. I wanna try baking them or lol If I ever get to go to a food show where they ask me my last meal or what my favorite thing is imma make those chefs make me these
I constantly tell my partner that im her biggest fan, i truly truly am, she’s the most intelligent most hardworking and most talented person i know. im glad its a normal emotion and is appreciated
new metric for men unlocked:
i’ve realised something about the best men i know.
they aren’t just “good partners.” they aren’t just “supportive.” they are their partners’ biggest fans.
and i don’t mean in the abstract, “she’s great, i love her so much” kind of way. i mean in the very practical sense where it’s hard to have a conversation with them without their partner coming up.
“she’s so brilliant, she’s running this new project…”
“you should meet her, she’s incredible at xyz…”
“i was stuck on this idea and she solved it in two minutes.”
they’re lowkey her PR manager, pitching her to the world, with no irony, no reluctance, no weirdness about “giving her too much shine.”
and here’s the part that really clicked for me:
lots of men love their partners. but very few men are fans of their partners. being in love says i value you in relation to me. being a fan says i see you for everything you are independent of me.
when a man talks about his partner with that kind of unfiltered admiration, you can feel the difference. he’s not just proud of her as “his person.” he’s proud of her as a person. he sees her in full colour, not just as a supporting character in his story.
that’s the greenest of green flags. because it means he’s secure enough in himself to be excited about her wins without shrinking. it means he’s tuned into who she is outside of “us.” it means the relationship is two full human beings standing side by side, not one person absorbing into the other.
and honestly, once you’ve noticed it, it’s impossible to unsee. i’ve walked away from conversations replaying how often (or rarely) men speak about their partners this way. sometimes you realise the silence says more than the words ever could.
so yes, here’s my new metric: if he’s not her biggest fan, if he doesn’t talk about her like he’s campaigning for her presidency at every dinner table, i’m not impressed.
love is common. admiration is rare. i know which one i’d bet on.
I think my severe avoidant tendencies come from the fact that I am very innocent but smart enough to not let people take advantage of me (which has been done to me a lot, realisation hit hard recently). I shouldn’t trust anyone. Anyone can cheat anytime.
I thought so too but detachment is important. You never know what they're truly capable of, what they're fully thinking or what their future actions/intentions might be. So it's better to ask for the love you want right now, so that at least you get that in the moment
@Luvidk21_ So lucky to have her aaaaaa and not in just this way. She’s the brightest star in this universe. Everything she touches turns into stardust. She’s perfect in every way a human can be
almost leaves such an ambiguous empty spot and hurts so much to hear.
being “almost enough” is so hard.
I hope the gaps are not what she truly wants in her life, because she’s had that before. I really hope I can be plain and simple enough one day, amen
