I am the one thing in life I can control. I am inimitable I am an original. I'm not falling behind or running late. I'm not standing still I am lying in wait.
Some of y’all forget the reason we have food safety regulations is because companies used to do things like adding chalk to spoiled milk so it looked normal.
Regulations don’t exist because governments enjoy them. They exist because pure unadulterated capitalism would kill us.
I don’t understand people who keep the window shade down on a plane. We’re 35 thousand feet in the sky. You don’t want to check out the view? We’re above the freaking clouds, for God’s sake. Humans could only dream of a view like this for millennia. And you have the shade down.
being married is so funny, I’m watching girlie vlogs, doing my nighttime “closing” routine, lighting candles in clean rooms, doin my nails, and this man is just witnessing it all? He’s just here? One of the girls?
unironically, take an interest in things. visit art galleries, hit up the library and discover-browse. read widely. learn new languages, new words. watch old films. the world is a wonderful place but the sense of wonder is a muscle that must be cultivated like any other.
The person you marry is the person you fight with.
The house you buy is the house you repair.
The dream job you take is the job you stress over.
Everything comes with an inherent sacrifice—whatever makes us feel good will also inevitably make us feel bad.
Been noticing this weird thing lately where if I eat high protein foods in the middle of the day instead of pretzels and candy, I don’t need a 90 minute nap every single afternoon like usual. Sadly we’ll never know if there’s a connection
Trying to make friends as an adult is one of the most discouraging things I’ve ever done. I’ve tried being more outgoing, having groups of girls/moms over to my house, etc. only to either not hear from them again or only ever hear from them if I reach out first.
I hope this gets better. I had lots of friends as a teenager and it changes when everybody graduates, then scatters into their new seasons of life. It’s so so lonely.
