Raksha... He had thought Dagda was the greatest problem... But no. That woman that plunged the world into dark times. She made him angry. Yet he'd never show it publicly.
"...Raksha just watched? I'm... not surprised. My mind is made up, we'll clear your name, Orchel. I swear."
“Aurora…”
Orchel trembled…she remembered how her precious daughter came to be. …From horrendous circumstances.
“Credna…and Smyrnos restored my soul in this body, out of guilt for not doing anything during my execution. While Raksha…watched me fall.”
I would have started going to crazy lengths to bring him back... Having people that cared helped a lot, but I guess when everyone else that does care are also spiraling... They're enabling eachother."
He sighed, glancing at her.
"...I dont think they were always like that."
Cai listened to Orchels grievances like a good grandson would... Though he glanced at his hand and met Balors gaze right back at him...
"Well... Wanting things to be normal or... regular, isn't uncommon... I lost myself a little after pop passed, and if I didn't have mom there +
“Are my sisters so devoted to Father that they lost themselves…?”
Orchel wondered out loud. Or was that cruelty just…always there? Since they don’t claim her as Yu Phas since…she was an automaton.
“I loved Father…I truly did. But the dead beast whose tomb we guarded, -
"Off the clock? I didn't know being Divine Sovereign was something you can clock out of! Regardless-"
-Cue his face getting squeezed-
"Ahah- I hear that a lot, honestly. Centurio says I got my mom's looks and pops determination... And hair."
"Heh! I'm off the clock so I can be as silly as I please~!"
PINCH PINCH PINCH! ❤️
"You look so much like your mother. It warms my heart looking at you."
"...Whilst I do owe her for letting me see pop, I can only extend that kindness so far, especially when she's manipulating others into being cruel to you."
He sighed, almost ashamed for ever giving Iliana a moment of attention.
"Honestly, I wish I met you before I met her, I+
“…Solel did say that she visited the prisons rather frequently…likely because Bertrand was down there.”
And that accursed toy…it was no mere teddy bear. Orchel could sense a piece of Balor inside of it.
“…They’ll absolutely make a move, since their cover has been blown. -
...And she was there too, I remember her looking at my hand and telling the guards to let me in. If I knew what I know now... I wouldn't have even bothered talking to her."
-He looks at his hand, Hells Eye glimmering under afternoon light, before he sighs.-
He nodded, rubbing the back of his head apologetically.
"Right... Sorry about that, Orchel. But... Your sister, I assume shes the one that looks a lot like you. I've met her before, when pop got locked up. I went down under the arena to find him but got stopped by guards... +
Orchel took a moment to register the name being used for her. Yu Phas. …Who she was in her previous life.
Orchel was Yu Phas. Yu Phas…was Orchel. But…hm.
“…Thank you, Cai. And…you don’t have to address me as Yu Phas. I…I think I like the Orchel name more.”
The maiden-
much to you, I think you're still really cool. Automaton or not... I've heard a lot of stories about you from mom and Theodora. I'll fight to the day of my own death before I ever let anyone throw you out like you mean nothing."
"...Then we have to stop them, at all costs. I'm willing to fight for you, Orc- Uh... Yu Phas."
He outstretched a hand for her, a branch of trust, of family. He smiled at her, though not the same kid he once was, he showed more confidence than naivete.
"...And, if its worth+
“…It’s okay, Cai. It…took a long time for me to figure out who I was too.”
Her red eyes softened at being called Grandma…even if it made her feel old.
“My sisters wish to bring back Balor. Our father. But if they do, it’s…not going to be the man we loved. It’ll be a beast.”
-to hurt you... As you said, he's being manipulated... But if your sister is pretending to be you and is manipulating Grandpop... Then I won't stand for that! I'm... sorry it took so long for me to recognize you, but we'll figure it out together, I swear."
His eyes widened in shock, before narrowing in anger... This was the first time he was hearing about Orchel being Yu Phas at all... Which meant she was family, which meant he wouldnt stand for anyone treating her this way.
"...Grandma...? Well... I'm sure Solel wasn't meaning-
-Fake…copy…imposter…a thing. …To be dismantled and thrown into the garbage.”
O h . So that’s what Orchel had been up to. Being called horrific things by her sister was understandable, but /Solel/?! The one person that she was trying to save?
He clears his throat, before awkwardly chuckling...
"I uhh... I got lost looking for the vegetable gardens. But, those can wait..."
He didn't seem to comment on her lack of mask. He was sort of out of the loop with what his grandfather was up to.
"...Whats wrong...?"
Natural curiosity lead Cai to the gardens... He needed some inspiration for some new farms to plant around Dagda, but once he saw Orchel, his focus changed.
"...Orchel? Did... Something happen?"
“………”
A small sniffle…she was safe to cry here, wasn’t she? The tears that were appearing in her eyes…was she allowed to have them?
She was back in the shoes of Yu Phas, but…she didn’t feel happy. She felt alone.
@ObsidianVihuela Sounds like a really good deal to me!
-He touches his own cheek, not really noticing his own blush before awkwardly laughing.-
I uh... I gotta go, make sure the Pegasus...esuses are... alright? See you later, Leda! I'll be there for your performance, promise."
