This galaxy brain it’s-all-about-China’s-oil talking point drives me *insane*
Only reason China was able to buy so much discounted crude from Ven/Irn/Ruz was because of US sanctions, largely imposed by the Trump admin(!), which scared off other buyers and left them all to China.
U.S. tariffs against every other country are lower than those charged by every other country against the US. And this doesn't include non-tariff barriers to balanced trade including VAT, barriers to local entity formation, subsidized credit for manufacturers, export stipends, banning of organized labor, lower environmental standards, non-scientific safety standards, and other industrial policies designed to benefit a country's manufacturers at the expense of local consumers.
Expect this to change a week from today when new US tariffs are announced.
Trump wants to build Keystone XL but also complains about the trade deficit which only exists because the US wants to buy Canadian oil so they can get rich refining and exporting it?
It doesn’t make sense. He either doesn’t understand this or it’s all a bluff to make Canada jump
Take a flight across the Canadian fires. #wildfire#smoke#canada
A look at the truly amazing size of some of these Canadian fires. This is the fire burning near Edson, Alberta which recently prompted more evacuations.
There are many fires currently burning throughout Canada this size. Crews have been using natural barriers, dozer line, and firing operations to try and box these fires in.
Thanks to the subscriber that sent this footage in. Cheers brother. 🙏🍻
