In upholding the proscription of Palestine Action, Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr showed she was historically illiterate.

Contrary to her claims, the Sufragettes were neither a peaceful civil disobedience group nor did they operate "transparently in the open".

Their hundreds of bombing and arson attacks are known to have injured at least two dozen people, many of them postal workers, left with severe burns.

Their bomb and arson squads organised this violence through underground cells. Leaders were kept in a network of safe houses to avoid discovery by police. And leader Emmeline Pankhurst used body doubles and assumed names to evade police capture.

There's even a 2015 Hollywood movie, Sufragette, showing all this. This sudden level of ignorance by our political and judicial class is entirely manufactured.

The Sufragette movement was far, far more violent and clandestine than anything Palestine Action has been doing.

That's not an argument against the Suffragettes. It's argument exposing the utter hypocrisy of the politicians, judges and media peddling lies to justify crushing an organisation trying to expose UK government complicity in Israel's genocide.

Paleontologists spent decades trying to explain these bizarre spiral-shaped fossils found in Nebraska. Turns out, they were burrows chewed into the ground by prehistoric beavers 20 million years ago.

In the mid-1800s, ranchers across Sioux County, Nebraska began unearthing strange spiral structures of hardened rock-like material sticking vertically out of the ground. The spirals were as thick as an arm and some were taller than a man.

Paleontologist Erwin H. Barbour collected dozens of these giant spiral structures and named them Daimonelix, Greek for "devil's screw." Their origin was a complete mystery. Barbour first considered them remains of giant freshwater sponges, then theorized they were fossilized plant root systems.

University of Kansas professor Larry Martin examined more than a thousand fossilized burrows in the 1970s and made a stunning discovery: the scratches on the walls weren't from claws but from teeth. The ancient beaver used its long front incisors to dig its tight spirals, literally screwing itself straight down into the ground.

The Palaeocastor was a small, now-extinct beaver that lived about 23 million years ago, much smaller than today's beavers, roughly the size of a prairie dog. The burrows were often as much as nine feet deep, with side chambers for sleeping and rearing young. Some excavated rooms even contain pockets scientists believe were dedicated latrines or water-collecting sinks.

The spiral design may have made it easier to escape predators, which might reach down into a straight burrow but not around a curve.

Today, you can visit Agate Fossil Beds National Monument and hike the Daemonelix Trail to see these corkscrew burrows still embedded in the hillsides.
