Gm, finally back from a 3 week vacation in Japan.
As some of you might have heard, @Azuki went through a recent company restructuring with numerous employees being laid off, including myself.
I thought I’d be more bitter about it but honestly, the last two and a half years working at Azuki have been an absolute blessing. Being able to move to LA, be surrounded by some of the kindest and most passionate individuals I’ve ever worked with, and having the privilege of learning and growing from tech and media professionals with decades of experience and excellence has been a dream. They say you should strive to never be the smartest person in the room, and at Azuki I never was - and it was awesome. You can’t buy that kind of learning and growing opportunity.
I have nothing but appreciation and respect for Azuki and my former team for giving me the opportunity to grow, come in every day, and work my ass off doing work I love doing. Big love to @Zagabond, @locationtba, @2pmflow, and @hoshiboyzen for giving a bean like me a chance to be part of such an incredible journey. Huge thanks to @DemAzuki, @emilyrosemcg, @elaineazuki14, and @dgtlemissions for being such incredible bosses, mentors, and friends. The countless memories and hardships I shared with a dope team in the most battle-hardened NFT project and community will never be forgotten.
Thank you, Azuki. ⛩️
All that being said, with 2 years of content creation and 3 years of Web3 community building, strategy, and business development under my belt, I’m now looking for new opportunities to pursue.
My DM’s are open - and I’m ready to build. 🫡
Finally settled down in LA after flying back from Chicago last night for Azuki TCG Regionals.
While I am admittedly pretty disappointed at my performance, I think back to when I started being a more competitive TCG player earlier this year.
Back then, I was:
• unemployed
• directionless
• pretty shit at Azuki TCG
• barely managing my poor mental health
Now, I am:
• employed with 2 jobs
• in school to work towards my degree
• slightly less shit at Azuki TCG
• surrounded by awesome friends in LA that I cherish and hang out with all the time
It’s crazy how a few months can change so much. Even with the hiccup of a bad TCG tournament performance, I can’t help but be grateful at the life I’m living and appreciate how far I’ve come.
Shoutouts to the friends that have made my life so enjoyable over the last few months. Being around them and just reflecting on the state of my life has helped me feel much better about my disappointing performance.
That being said, I’m ready to dominate at the next regionals- you all have been warned 🫡
I remember vividly when my dad called me over to watch this Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony, 18 years ago.
I remember the pride in his excited eyes and voice as he explained to me the significance of every single aspect of this incredible performance.
Every Chinese person across the globe felt pride in being Chinese in that moment where the world watched in awe.
This was the moment when the phrase “Made In China” started meaning something different to me.
This performance single-handedly taught me what it truly meant to be proud of my origins.
@Hodling_hodler@BitmanTW Well, the difference is that Starbucks sells coffee and the loyalty points are a bonus.
When people farm an airdrop, the loyalty points, or XP, are what’s being sold. There is no other incentive in most cases, including this one.
Yo @MediaGiraffes gonna hard vouch for my guy @WhoStoleMyEth here - super trustworthy dope guy, trust him with any and all of my cards. I’ve given him some of my cards to repair and they went from likely 5s to 7-8s. He’s also situated in SoCal, so wouldn’t cost much to get him to you!
