I’m reposting the clip below which outlines in detail why the Chagos deal would be a nightmare for military operations. It surrenders pretty much everything you need control over to plan, staff, communicate and execute operations.
@realDonaldTrump@POTUS should listen to his own Senators on this.
Kemi is right. Here’s a recap of how the Chagos ‘deal’ would damage our collective interests (articles they relate to are in the clip):
❌Constrain future Ops and use of the base
❌Prevent the placing of sensors and other maritime installations
❌Require us to sight our foes on defence planning
❌Be unable to use our preferred contractors
❌Loss of control over electromagnetic spectrum.
❌Mess up Commonwealth agreements.
Kemi also right on Greenland and good to see her going into bat in this.
And if cutting jury trials cuts the backlog (which it won’t) then it will increase the prison population! And our prisons are already overcrowded.
This ‘policy’ has not been thought through.

EXCLUSIVE: After a phone call w/ a senior political contact in Scotland, I’ve been passed a list of 52 Labour MPs who have donations from Labour Together NOT registered on Electoral Commission website.
LT have funded a whole network of candidates to cement their grip on power:🧵
Shady group Labour Together secretly bankrolled Starmer.
This week we exposed the scandal – McSweeney & LT’s web of deceit made the front page.
Now Labour rush out Digital ID cards to distract from the truth.
And guess who’s behind that policy? You got it. Labour Together…
The @ElectoralCommUK's position isn't sustainable. They're losing complete credibility. McSweeney will go, with or without this watchdog's scrutiny. And if it's without it, then their leadership are finished and they'll need to follow him. It's simple...

Tory Party Chairman Kevin Hollinrake said:
“The Electoral Commission's decision not to investigate McSweeney is wrong. The Commission must now publish all of their Morgan McSweeney Files to ensure the public has full transparency. This is not over."
Rayner scandal continues with revelations her family lawyers increased value of her constituency home by £150K, allowing her to sell her 25% share to her son's trust for £162K - the Hove apartment deposit.
Starmer must insist on full transparency. The public have a right to know.
"In each and every one of these cases, there was a very, very plausible alternative explanation."

An ancient oak believed to be over 400 years old has been felled in a park in Enfield.
The trees felling, which took place in the Whitewebbs Park, is now being investigated by the Metropolitan Police.
We spoke to Ed Allnut from local campaign group Guardians of Whitewebbs.
In his evidence today, medical director of NHS England Sir Stephen Powis pointed out that the three baby deaths in June 2015 should have been reported as serious incidents, but only one was.
The consultants were responsible for reporting these deaths.
