@tedkel@GeoffreyLean The Norwegians surely have to be in line for the 'Most Hypocritical Country in the World' award. All smugly driving EV's powered by a few hydro dams whilst drilling more new oil & gas wells than you can count & exporting carbon to anyone who can pay. Lovely.
@tedkel What do Hermer, Starmer, Powell & Romeo all have in common? Answer: Tony Blair & Oracle & China. Their tentacles reach far and wide. The Chagos deal must be ratified at all cost! It's one of the most
Interesting that Burnham is supposedly still proceeding with Chagos but has removed a big cog of Chagos deal architecture in Hermer. Powell still there so far.
@GBNEWS Very poor reporting @christopherhope Here's some questions for next time! 1. Was Powell in receipt of Top Security Docs before being vetted? 2. Why did you, Hermer, recuse yourself from Chagos vote? 3. Why did you shut down China spy trial?
@Keir_Starmer has to be forced to resign after a disastrous 2 years. His policies have done much harm to the UK, it's people & economy. Ambassadors & National security advisers who were not vetted properly. Not a single question answered at PMQ's in 2 years! Good riddance!
@RonnytheT@JChimirie66677 The fact is that if it's proved that Powell's clearance is found not to have been in place at the correct time, he would have to go. The dark forces (Blair) need him to remain in post (a National Security Adviser totally unaccountable to parliament) What a system!! Unbelievable!
@RonnytheT@JChimirie66677 Dear little @KemiBadenoch or indeed any MP, is totally powerless to get Powell's vetting & clearance scrutinised. We already know it's unlikely that it was in place when he was already working on Chagos deal & had access to high level Top Secret docs. Utterly pathetic situation!
@RonnytheT@JChimirie66677 Ron, it's not being overlooked, but we have a corrupt Parliamentary system. Starmer was specifically asked at PMQ's when Powell's vetting & clearance was provided. He stood up, talked some drivel about Powell being respected the world over & how dare you ask me this & sat down!
@BirdSculptures@JChimirie66677 Ultimately, what is needed is a UK govt who will be pro Chagos Isl. remaining British, unlike the current bunch of quislings. They could then negotiate a 199 year extension to the current DG 1966 treaty which ends in 2036. Extending the treaty to 2235 will put this to bed.
@BirdSculptures@JChimirie66677 Absolutely! Sen Kennedy has created the Diego Garcia Oversight Bill specifically to prevent any changes being forced through without any kind of vote. If his bill becomes law, and no reason why not, the Senate will have to vote on any proposed changes to the existing DG Treaty.
@Caribbrexiteer@JChimirie66677 It was no accident that Mauritius retained Brownlie in 2001, as he was one of the 'architects' of using ICJ. At one point he was instructed in 40 cases (more than 50% of all ICJ cases). When Brownlie died in accident in 2010, his protoge Sands took over his work for £7M in fees
@Caribbrexiteer@JChimirie66677 Sorry, not defending the Tories, but they were misled & 'scared' into negotiating by the totally corrupt ICJ ruling (which we all now know has no legal standing). The instigators are Mauritius, who in 2010 retained Sir Ian Brownlie to push their claim on Chagos. Check the facts!
@StephenMedlock5 Has someone explained to Burnham that the deal cannot proceed. The Diego Garcia Oversight Act needs to become law first in US & then the Senate has a vote which vetoes any changes to the 1966 US/UK DG Treaty, which are necessary to push Starmer's Chagos Fraud deal through.
@NileGardiner@andyburnham I think Starmer & Co are gambling on a Democrat win in Jan 2029. This gives them a few months to push it through the US Senate (once Diego Garcia Oversight Act becomes law) & the House of Lords in UK before Labour get kicked out of office in General Election later in 2029.
@tedkel Sen John Kennedy has introduced the Diego Garcia Oversight Act, which will require consent of the US Senate before any changes can be made to the 1966 UK/US treaty. Blair, Starmer, Hermer & now Burnham must be gambling on Democrat win in Jan 2029 so they can slip this through...
