I’m hoping David Sandlin has a short leash today. If his past starts are any indication, he gets through the lineup easily the first time and then struggles a bit after that. Hopefully he can go 3 or 4 and then Schultz piggybacks him for 2 or 3.
Over their final 6 games, the Guardians will have to deal with Payton Tolle, Sonny Gray, Ranger Suarez, and likely Michael Wacha, Noah Cameron, and Daniel Lynch.
Meanwhile, the White Sox get Lynch, the Royals two other worst starters, and the Rockies pitching staff for their final 6 games.
The Sox just need to win one more game than the Guardians the rest of the way to win the division. If Cleveland still comes out ahead with the remaining pitching matchups this far in the White Sox favor on paper, then you just have to tip your cap to them.
@BlueDog876@ChiSoxFanMike The Twins had won 10 of their last 14 games and swept Red Sox prior to playing the White Sox. So the Twins had momentum coming into Chicago.
