A technical fault stopped the Gulmarg Gondola cable car in Kashmir, leaving hundreds of tourists stranded mid air in multiple cabins. Some cabins were hanging as high as about 500 feet above the ground, and the bad weather made the rescue harder.
The Indian Army joined the rescue with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, SDRF, and NDRF. The teams used ropes, ladders, and trained rescue methods to bring people down safely from the cabins.

320 people were evacuated safely, here you see a lone Indian army soldier rescuing stranded people suspended above 500 feet, from a cable car.

The saddest part is that the same Indians forget to donate for the Armed forces at times of war, or in normal days for the Indian Defence Fund.

Why the PM said what he said in Hyderabad today about WFH, saving petrol, avoiding destination weddings, not buying gold for a year, etc.

India imports massive quantities of both crude oil and gold, and both are paid for in dollars. In a period of geopolitical instability, if crude oil prices rise sharply while gold imports and luxury foreign spending continue unchecked, it puts enormous pressure on India’s foreign exchange reserves, trade deficit, rupee stability, and inflation.

Oil is a necessity. Gold and luxury foreign expenditure are lnot. From a policymaking perspective, reducing non-essential dollar outflow during economic uncertainty becomes strategically important.

If people don't save fuel, keep buying imported gold at record levels, and spend heavily abroad, the pressure eventually hits the rupee itself. A weaker rupee makes imports more expensive, fuel prices rise, transportation costs go up, and eventually the price of almost every commodity in the economy starts increasing.

So his appeal is logical for collective good.

Man, I don’t remember ever seeing people celebrate the defeat of an incumbent in a state election like this.

Mamata must be utterly shell-shocked. Years of near-total suppression of dissent by her cadre machinery probably convinced her that she was genuinely loved. When fear silences criticism, rulers mistake silence for admiration.

Now, with scenes like these emerging from virtually every locality and every city, she may finally be realising the scale of public resentment that had been buried beneath intimidation and political fear.

If they would have projected Annamalai as CM candidate and gone alone like in MP election, this would have given edge to the party with massive craze he created.

It would have also broken the film stars turning politicians trend in TN.
