Proud imperfect dad & husband. Passionate about leading a team who supports others in need. Little City CEO. Not to be confused w/Ricky Bobby. #autism#IDD
As the heat of summer wears on, we’re excited to introduce the Hydro Heroes program at Little City! We all know the importance of drinking water for our health, and we need to encourage the individuals in our care to hydrate! We already have hydration protocols in place but wanted to bring some fun to the effort with educational posters, water dispensers, stickers, lanyards, T-shirts, and, of course, WATER BOTTLES!
The inner rewards are rich for Rosalind Wakefield, who works as a direct support professional at Little City in Palatine, assisting people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. https://t.co/NoxIZL0YeK
It was an honor and a privilege to apply for a vacant Board of Education seat for Huntley School District 158. Although, my nomination ended in a tie vote, & I wasn’t confirmed, the process was respectful & invigorating. Best of luck to the newly appointed candidate!
@Dist158
Approximately 40 D158 volunteer parents and staff members gathered for the first Parent Teacher Advisory Committee (PTAC) meeting tonight. The new board committee was established to create an opportunity for discussion and feedback on board policies and procedures.

Dignity in Pay Act - HB0793, aids in the transition to end sub-minimum wage for people with disabilities. 36 IL Reps sponsored this bill - and it didn’t pass! Help us fight for the rights of the disabled community by sharing this tweet. Join us in building a better world for all!
We are headed toward a children’s home crisis. We stand with the $4 per hour wage increase for DSPs, unfortunately, children’s home DSP’s were left out of the budget! $3.4M of a State Budget totaling over $180 billion will eliminate a crisis for our children.

Thx @HBODocs#FosterDoc 4 initiating awareness of trauma, inequality, & other social challenges inherently embedded in the lives of kids & families impacted. Just adding the workforce crisis is real, fewer social workers choosing this essential work due to high stress & low pay.
"To really be a true advocate, you need to know where the other side is coming from."
@IamJessChandler talks openly about what it's like being a social worker in the foster care system. See her story and many others in #FosterDoc, premiering tomorrow night at 8PM on @HBO.
@JenSincero Thanks for the refresher in keeping life simple by using plain speak. I was weary at first that your book would be another “just dream big,” however I’m glad you kept it real by adding that dreaming big also requires action. A lot of action...
