@mariekehardy So this is Twitter and what have you done,
Another snark over, a new one just begun.
And so this is Twitter, I hope you had fun,
The nasty and the drear ones, the scolds and the glum.
@Jeff_Sparrow@fergusonjw It wasn’t even the front frigging page. It was online breakout quote. Front Page pointer: Clerical Collar gone for prisoner in black. P4: Straight shooter Judge decries ‘nasty, venomous, brazen sex offender.’ Now apology?
@fergusonjw@MichaelRoddan@Jeff_Sparrow This was Twitter to a T. Everyone piling on, no one had read the article which sharply told how Kidd gave Pell the respect he deserves - None.
Perhaps read on for context @jeff_sparrow before piling on: “A 53-year-old former Adelaide college boy, Kidd did not miss. Not once. Pell, he said, was an arrogant, nasty, venomous, brazen sex offender who had manifestly damaged two young lives.” Oh.
@Jeff_Sparrow Perhaps read next 3 sentences for context before piling on: “A 53-year-old former Adelaide college boy, Kidd did not miss. Not once.
Pell, he said, was an arrogant, nasty, venomous, brazen sex offender who had manifestly damaged two young lives.”
@benji_driver @Domaincomau But, but ... you’re the one who headlined tweet with, ‘Our new Opera House!?!’ Domain headline is, Architect ok with controversy. Nowhere did anyone but you say it was our new Opera House. Which was the clickbait that saw me read article.
@benji_driver @Domaincomau Who says ‘our new Opera House?’ Read article, maybe? “No construction since the Opera House in 1958 has excited as much enthusiasm and ridicule, but architect Koichi Takada doesn’t mind one bit.”
@MrJamesMay@ShaneJacobson@marklamprell I blame ducking auto-correct. I’m sure I wrote, ‘that dependable divine Shane Jacobson.’ That’s what my lawyers are telling me.
Great story. Great cast (Cromwell! Thompson! Waterman! Weaver! Billing!) Great director. As long as @marklamprell can wrangle that demanding diva @ShaneJacobson this film is gonna be a winner.
Congrats @marklamprell!
NEVER TOO LATE is the riotous story of four heroic Vietnam veterans, famous for escaping from a POW camp, whose new challenge is to break out of the nursing home from hell to chase their unrealised dreams. https://t.co/MmSBkiNffg
@DameHat@EffingHardy One ep in on McMafia but sidetracked by Dirty John starring Eric Bana on Netflix: the plot is hard to believe except ... it’s based on a true crime podcast!
Prime time tonight on SBS, Australia’s multicultural and multilingual broadcaster: Henry IX (UK;) Secrets Of Harrods (UK;) Trust Me (UK;) Counterpart (US;) The Good Fight (US;) The Night Manager (UK.)
@eliza_brien One man’s opinion piece does not represent a host of voices. Also, as a reader of News Ltd papers I now find I’m an extremist. Whatever next?
@FitToPrint There’s a horrid piece of kitsch to the left of the tree. Who dumped it there? There are laws against tossing rubbish on public roads. Action now!
@domknight Front page of Daily Telegraph: Cardinal Sin. Front page of Herald Sun: Guilty As Sin. Miranda is a right wing columnist who is a practising Catholic. Why does she become Murdoch Press? Same for Bolt.
@GlynisTN Dirty John starring Eric Bana and Coach’s Wife on Netflix is also worth a go. Impossible to believe plot except it’s true!! Was originally an LA Times true crime podcast.
