What a miopic statement. The logical unsoundness of categorising an entire country of 240,000,000+ is sickening. There are thousands of globally respected freelancers in Nigeria, including myself--regardless of your blinkered assertions. Wallow on in your echo chamber.
Science fiction writers, donโt call a phone a โterminalโ or a watch a โchronographโ without good reason. A futuristic device only earns a new name when it differs radically from existing technology.
I'm not antisocial. I would help anyone, and I have a robust sense of humour. But the pleasures I derive from life often involve reading, writing, exercising, and gardening--alone. I love people, but I'm EXTREMELY comfortable with myself. ๐
I grew up in a house filled with books, including almost any the classic of any genre you can think of. Reading all those books sparked my love for storytelling. Why do you write?
@elonmusk The flaw in this study the assumption that alien lifeforms would be biological. Yes, that is plausible, but there could be many species that are so unique as to be unidentifiable as living things. Aliens could be crystalline, energy based, or a fluid mix of both...
I've always loved science fiction. As a child, I wanted to meet aliens and travel to different planets. Alas, the only way could was through reading. But I do believe non-human intelligence exist. Do you?
I've read many books over and over again:
The Wretched of the Earth
The Eastern Approaches
Auschwitz
My Life in the Bushbof Ghosts
The Naked Ape
Dracula
Overboard
Earth Abides
Underwater Adventure
Things Fall Apart
Great Expectations
Alice in Wonderland
And so on...
@goodreads Kafka's The Metamorphosis. Since I was a boy, I must have read the opening chapters over 20 times. I just couldn't get into it. I've read countless "difficult" books and enjoyed them, but I don't just know why this has proved impossible. Perhaps one day...
@DKemeridou I'm a professional beta reader. I've just finished reviewing a manuscript that's so unlike anything I've read. Yet it was refreshing, so deeply satisfying, because the author refused to toe the line. I learned a lesson from that. That's surely a book I would buy when it's out.
