@CBCOntarioToday@ASPphysician@SinaiHealth@UHN@COVIDSciOntario More info re vaccine equity pls! This is a Pandemic. Yes, get gramma boosted, but WHO begs the rich to share! If we don’t, if it’s not Omicron that evades the vax, it will be the next, or next. We are plugging leaks in our cabin only, while the whole ship sinks.
@CBCOntarioToday@COVIDSciOntario Thunder Bay. Our health officer said she is comfortable opening schools here as our cases are going down, but Ford says no. Dr Henry said on CBC virus spreads MORE when schools closed, let alone mental health issues. Is BC that different? Is this data driven, or interpretation?
@CBCOntarioToday Mayor Mauro was quoted in local news saying the cause was social gatherings, which he said were not allowed. The rules on the Red Zone page list numbers allowed for "social gatherings" (not ZERO). The rules are confusing. The province's fault, not the city's.
@CBCOntarioToday Today’s topic re more restrictions: I hope Ford remembers Thunder Bay is not Toronto. No one is going to drive here to go to a bar or church. Red zones, yes, and maybe those nearby.
@CBCOntarioToday If T dies, and the US “explodes anyway” he will lead from the grave as a martyr. Better that he live, be humbled (if possible), and resign.
@CBCOntarioToday With the best care, I expect he will survive, but it’s not a binary matter. He may end up with life long effects, but I think those will be kept hidden, further misleading the public that most people will be fine.
@CBCOntarioToday I was taught (whether true or not) that Canada is NOT a melting pot (like the USA), but a mosaic. I was taught that this is different & better. I was born in '59 and the woman just on the line was born a few years before me.
@CBCOntarioToday Anecdotally (a FB discussion) here in Thunder Bay very few grocery workers or customers are wearing them. I do. One worker suggested that cessation of pandemic pay has demotivated some workers.
@CBCOntarioToday Could transparent face shields work for some with breathing difficulties? Could they be made available for them , or all? Aren’t they better anyway?
@CBCOntarioToday They have a philosophical stance against such plans, and we knew it, and they got elected. Maybe covid will shift them, but I doubt it. I just wish they hadn’t pretended they would study the data. Anecdotally it was working.
@CBCOntarioToday Someone just asked why Ford cancelled the basic income pilot. I was on it, & paid careful attention. Our Con. candidate said “we have no plans to cancel it”, and I knew what those weasel words meant. They said they were interested in the data. Not true, no data has been gathered
@CBCOntarioToday@UofT In Thunder Bay where we may be feeling too safe, recently in two big box stores I won’t name, some staff near me wore no mask. I wear one.
@CBCOntarioToday@UofT Aren’t face shields better? Protect both of us? Easier to clean? Don’t restrict communication as much, especially with those who need to read your lips. I don’t hear much about this. Do they need to be kept available for medical people?
