Fire Inspections are done often for public buildings to check for safety, as well as the fact that there are functional systems to attend to fires. These reports are available in our monthly Council Agenda available via our website.

The City of Bulawayo also trains staff from public and private organizations to ensure that they have first response teams in case of emergencies.

It should be noted that while these are in place, when there is a fire the first thing one should do is call the Fire Brigade as they are trained to attend to any fires before attempting to put out the fire by yourself. In most instances, the fire brigade is called when the fire has gotten out of hand and too late to salvage the property.
