THIS CANNOT BE IGNORED
A few days ago, this individual Kiongozi Kibet publicly posted a message calling for shuttles travelling to and from Lodwar, passing through Marich, to be “crushed”, before later deleting the post.
Yesterday, a travelling shuttle was attacked along the Kitale–Lodwar road near Kaakong’, leaving three passengers injured.
The timing and the language used raise very serious questions that cannot simply be ignored.
Where is the NCIC?
Why has there been no clear public action on inflammatory statements that can potentially fuel hatred and violence?
We cannot wait until innocent Kenyans are injured or killed, then start asking questions.
NCIC and the relevant security authorities must investigate, establish the facts and hold anyone responsible for incitement or criminal acts accountable.
This is bigger than politics. Human lives are at stake.

TO THE GOVERNMENT OF KENYA AND THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR AND NATIONAL ADMINISTRATION:
What is happening in Turkana South cannot continue as business as usual.
Today, three passengers were injured after suspected bandits opened fire on a vehicle near Kakong’u along the Lodwar–Kitale Highway. The victims were rushed to Kainuk Health Centre. 😢
These were innocent travellers simply going about their business. How many more people must be shot, injured or killed before decisive action is taken?
Why can’t the Government hold accountable leaders and individuals who fuel insecurity, incite hatred and deepen hostility between the Turkana and Pokot communities?
You have been carrying out disarmament operations using SOGs. So where are these guns coming from? Who is supplying them? And how do armed criminals continue to access firearms and shoot innocent travellers who are simply going about their business?
Why are innocent people being killed while those responsible continue to operate?
The Government has security agencies, intelligence capabilities and helicopters.
Why can’t these resources be used effectively to track down armed criminals, apprehend them and bring them before the law?
We do not need more funerals, more statements or more promises after people have died.
How many Turkana, Pokot and other innocent travellers must lose their lives before decisive action is taken?
We are asking for security, accountability and justice not revenge.
Stop the hate. Stop the impunity. Protect innocent Kenyans.
The Government must act. Now.
Honestly, I am deeply disappointed.
It feels like Turkana County can be left to bleed people killed, innocent passengers injured, vehicles shot at by armed bandits, and the Government simply watches.
Today, three passengers were injured near Kakong’u along the Lodwar–Kitale Highway. These are innocent people travelling and minding their own business.
Why does it have to reach this point before someone acts? Are we not Kenyans too?
We have a Government. We have security agencies. We have intelligence. We have helicopters. What more do we need before our people are protected?
I am tired of condolences after lives are lost. We need action before the next innocent Kenyan is killed.
