One of the most incompetent administrations in Chicago history “Ghetto Corporate” flies to Rome, Italy to meet with Pope Leo XIV for what appears to be little substance or measurable benefit to the people back home.

Meanwhile, Chicago residents are still being shot daily, neighborhoods remain neglected, and the theft and stripping of properties in blighted communities continues to be treated like a taboo subject.

Nobody in power wants to seriously discuss how land, demolitions, abandoned buildings, and redevelopment deals connect back to TIF money and political influence — because for many of them, that money pipeline is too important.

While struggling families deal with violence, rising taxes, displacement, and instability, city leadership continues prioritizing optics, political networking, and international photo opportunities over accountability at home.

BREAKING: Chicago Teachers Union members just rejected Stacy Davis Gates' push to hike union dues by $8.5 million. With 80% of votes counted, roughly 60% of members have voted no on the dues hike, according to the union.

This is a stunning defeat for the political leadership that put Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson into office and has huge implications for Chicago Public Schools board races in November.

Union leadership cited funding candidates in those school board races as the No. 1 reason for hiking dues, as well as covering legal fees associated with investigations from the Department of Labor and the IRS.
