"Fast Moving Jones Fire Triggers Urgent Evacuations Near Wickenburg Arizona"

➡️ A dangerous & fast-moving wildfire named the Jones Fire erupted southeast of Wickenburg in Maricopa County. The blaze began in a river bottom & has grown to approximately 100 acres with No containment reported as of this afternoon. High temperatures exceeding 110 degrees & thick riverbed vegetation including salt cedar & cottonwood are fueling rapid spread.

➡️ Emergency officials issued an immediate GO order for residents to evacuate. The mandate covers the area from U.S. 93 to Zabel Mine Road & between the railroad tracks & U.S. 60. Residents are instructed to leave now with prescriptions, identification, & pets. APS has suspended power east of U.S. 60 after flames damaged electrical equipment & power poles.

➡️ Major traffic disruptions remain as the Arizona Department of Transportation closed U.S. 60 in both directions at milepost 111. Westbound lanes are restricted at State Route 74 in Morristown, causing backups of at least 2 miles. Four Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATs) & a Type 2 hand crew have been deployed to assist ground resources in the high-intensity firefight.
