@MurrayHillGuy1 Don’t sleep on DC. From the National Mall (an incredible run itself) you can hit several paths that take you to Mt. Vernon, Rock Creek Park, 180 miles to western MD or the MD suburb of Bethesda. That’s just west. Heading east and north gets you the MBT or Anacostia River Trail.
