@TexasTechFB Worst defense I’ve ever seen. We shouldn’t be celebrating we should be embarassed. Been playing down to our non-conference competition for years, and that’s on our coaching staff. After that performance we’ll be lucky to win a single conference game
The Arcane Texas Fact of the Day is actually a passel of 10 facts about the Texas Panhandle.
1) The Panhandle is 25,610 square miles
2) The Panhandle comprises the northernmost 26 counties in Texas
3) The line forming the southern boundary of Swisher County in the central Panhandle marks the southern boundary of the Texas Panhandle
4) The elevation of the Texas Panhandle declines from about 4,700 feet in the northwest (Dallam County) to about 2,000 feet in the southeast (Childress County).
5) The growing season in the Texas Panhandle increases from 178 days per year in the far northwest to 217 days in the southeast
6) Average annual rainfall ranges from 21.5 inches in the eastern counties to 17.5 inches in the western counties
7) The upper tributaries of the Red River and the Canadian River drain the Texas Panhandle. The Canadian River cuts across the High Plains to isolate the southern part, the Llano Estacado, which has very little drainage and a reputation as one of the world's flattest areas of such size
8) The Ogallala aquifer, which lies beneath almost the entire Texas Panhandle, is one of the world's largest aquifers and unquestionably the Panhandle's most valuable resource.
9) Human presence in the Panhandle dates from the time of Paleo-Indian hunters of Pleistocene animals, whose presence is verified by exquisitely knapped Folsom and Clovis projectile points found all over the Panhandle alongside datable materials
10) The folks who live in the Panhandle are the nicest folks in Texas.
Okay, so I may have made that last fact up, but in my experience its pretty darn true! And I say that as somebody who comes from Central Texas. 😀
