Andy Burnham isn’t just talking about tinkering with council tax; he’s backing a full land value tax – an annual charge based purely on the value of the land under your home, not just transactions like stamp duty.

Campaigners he supports talk openly about scrapping council tax and stamp duty and replacing them with a flat levy of around 0.48% of property value, hitting you every single year.
