The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs has halted the relocation of some waste transfer vehicles belonging to Zoomlion to neighbouring countries as the government moves to address the worsening waste management crisis in Accra.
Speaking to the media, sector minister Ahmed Ibrahim said the government is taking urgent steps to operationalise six waste transfer centres across the capital to improve waste collection and disposal.
