If you had told 38-year-old me that at 43 I’d be ripped I would have laughed in your face.
𝘐 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘬𝘦𝘺.
Now my pride is in my ability to change.
To 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺.
I traded the vice of the bottle, for the deeper meaning in life.
I traded a victim mindset for an action-taker mindset.
I want to be the inspiration to my son that I didn't have as a child.
𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘱 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦. 𝘍𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦. 𝘎𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘶𝘥𝘥𝘺.
𝘈𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘺.
So I washed the proverbial mud off and got to work.
I’m here to tell you if I can do it, so can you.
𝗟𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.
It's only through complete and utter annihilation of all your self-imposed conditions and beliefs and the strength to pick up the pieces over and over again can you begin to catch a slight glimpse of what true freedom actually is.
The work never stops.
Awareness is everything.
Awareness of your being
Awareness in masking or awareness towards dealing.
Awareness in the sensations feelings have in your body.
Awareness of how your energy and state of being affects others.
Awareness of your mind state at any given moment.
Are you “aware” or are you mindlessly bulldozing your way through life completely oblivious to the fact that at some point, all that lack of awareness will catch up with you.
I went about life bulldozing my way through it.
Even when I gained “awareness” I was trapped in the do more cycle.
Action, action, action
It worked for a while until it stopped working.
And I realized through “awareness” that I was masking pain, frustration, and anger with action and more action and more action.
Only to be left ultimately unfulfilled, burnt out, and left more broken than when I started.
But if it wasn’t for awareness, I would have reached for a bottle or a substance, or another course to further mask the underlying emptiness inside.
You have to sit with yourself long and hard and get to the bottom of why you do what you do.
Even the healthiest things…
Exercise, business development, self-development, diets, etc can all just be band-aids covering an infected festering sore that needs serious attention.
Yeah, being in shape will help, and so will money, freedom, and “things.”
But in the end, if you’re not aware of yourself all the bullshit will come back because life will test you and keep testing you.
This is why awareness is key. Awareness leads to liberation and salvation.
Cultivate your sense of awareness, it’s the one thing that may save you in the end.
Took a much needed break. Sometimes you have to kill all the noise in your world to gain clear vision. I killed my reach but who cares. Life is always in flux. Your not meant to be a machine pushing out mindless content to feed a bullshit algorithm.
