As a result of these and other reasons, 1) fewer men have Fibro than women, 2) many men don't know they have it, and 3) many men who have it don't feel comfortable sharing. Doing so generally doesn't help.
Rant because Fibromyalgia is a major (and ever-growing) part of my life. There are many reasons why you don't often hear men "claim to have" it. Here are a few:
1. The most obvious, women (esp. older women) are statistically much more likely to have Fibro than men.

5. Men tend to do more high-impact physical activity. Football, hockey, wrestling, hard labor, etc. result in a lot of men saying they have a bad back, for example. Maybe that's all it is. But maybe an easy-to-point-to physical past covers up Fibro.

Elder Kearon is the first Apostle born in the 1960s. He was baptized in 1987, meaning he was not even a member of the Church when President Nelson and President Oaks became Apostles.
Elder Patrick Kearon (@patrickkearon) has been called as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called on Thursday, December 7, 2023, and ordained later that day by President @NelsonRussellM and the other members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is the second-highest presiding body in the government of the Church. In addition to their primary responsibility to be special witnesses of the name of Christ throughout the world, these Apostles have significant administrative responsibilities in overseeing the operation and development of a global Church. They serve under the direction of the First Presidency, which includes the Church President and two counselors.

@Grownded @JoyfulRepenter "Your body didn't become less of a temple just because For the Strength of Youth was modified to be more applicable in a worldwide Church. (There's no R rating in South America.) And who said FSY was supposed to have every single standard of the Church?"
@Grownded @JoyfulRepenter That's a tough spot. If specific standards are requested, I would just say "this is what prophets said for many years, and I've been blessed for following it."
@Grownded @JoyfulRepenter If it's for myself, I've already been given wise counsel from prophets and that's all I need. If it's for others, I try not to get involved -- most of the people saying "now second piercings are okay" already had second piercings. The "prophetic authority" was never the issue.
