🇵🇹 Today is Portugal’s national day: Dia de Portugal, de Camões e das Comunidades Portuguesas.
The date honours Luís Vaz de Camões, who died on 10 June 1580. He is one of the great names of Portuguese literature, best known for Os Lusíadas, first published in 1572.
Os Lusíadas tells the story of Vasco da Gama’s sea route to India, but it became much more than a travel epic. It became one of the central works of Portuguese identity, memory and language.
Camões is so closely linked to Portuguese culture that Portuguese is still sometimes called “a língua de Camões” the language of Camões.
The day also celebrates Portuguese communities around the world. Officially, 10 June is marked both in Portugal and among Portuguese communities abroad, a nice reminder that Portugal is bigger than the map.
Feliz Dia de Portugal 🇵🇹

This is why I won't live anywhere where there are earthquakes.
You know when a tornado or a hurricane is coming, but you never know when an earthquake will hit.
Hoping the Philippines gets the support it needs right now.
@Teknium@_markstreeter@Hostinger This is crazy because I literally had issues with hosting her yesterday and decided to move all six of my projects off of their servers.
Time is blocked on my calendar this week to make the move.
I’ll check out vultr. Tx!
@adgirlMM Have them run the bill through Claude, or one of the LLMs and ask it what the right price for these services should be. Then reduce that amount and tell the hospital that is what he is willing to pay.
Its not foolproof, but my bet is that they will take it
Context switching from an enterprise Product Owner and Scrum Master to a solo founder building Venture Sage has been the ultimate reality check.
Managing specific phases of the SDLC is one thing; owning the entire lifecycle from scratch completely shifts your perspective. 👇
Been paying for @Couchsurfing for years since they held my refrences (memories) hostage (I started in 2016).
they finally have this big new platform redesign, and it's HORRIBLE!
UX is terrible, the app is slow, it's not intuitive to navigate.
Key features are dropped like the ability to turn off ones ability to host. My inbox is full of requests for Porto even though I live 1hr and 20 m inutes away because thier new algo sucks.
dude... wtf?!
Since starting daily walking meditations, I’ve noticed considerable more focus while doing work and being present with my partner and friends.
45 minutes, focused on breath, sounds, smells, and surroundings.
Of course I still think, but when I catch myself, I smile, laugh at myself, and remind myself: this moment is to be here. To observe, to breath, to be hyper aware.
Stress reduction, memory retention, activity time contribution, the rewards go in.
Sam Harris makes a point here that's hard to dismiss: most people can't stay undistracted for 30 seconds. Not because they're lazy — because they've never built the capacity. And that's not a trivial problem.
If your emotional state is just a byproduct of whatever thought randomly surfaces next, you're not really steering anything.
The fix, according to Sam, is learning to notice thoughts as appearances in awareness rather than being identical to them — and mindfulness meditation is the most direct way to start building that skill.
@PfizerSoze1@ThePettiestLA Dude, All I was insinuating is that he doesn't flop like these guys do these days.
Not that he was this flawless player or anything.
+ I'm from Chicago. Jordan is my guy.
